Racing

Racing is optional. While many BNJRT athletes seek high-level competition, others take a more recreational approach and do not compete in races.

The primary purpose of racing is for athletes to test their fitness and skills development within a wider field of entrants in an encouraging environment.

In the Rocky Mountain West, the race weekends are travel weekends that include plenty of racing, team-wide equipment prep, and often social events organized by the hosting team. This can create memorable opportunities for athletes and parents to make and build friendships beyond their own team.

Older athletes can also have the opportunity to gain a measure of independence by traveling with the team and lodging with their teammates under the supervision of adult coaches.
